I use them for storage, paint and use as a gift tin insead of a box, have planted a small tree in one too.
The large cans can be painted / decorated and repurposed into things such as: small wastebaskets, storage containers for pet food , small toys, craft supplies....just about anything! you can also drill holes in bottom and fashion a planter.. can even attach legs for variation. The possibilities are endless.

I had one with dogs on it and used it for dog food storage. Sprayed the inside of the lid with sealant and poked holes in the bottom of can for a plant container. Crafters can always find something to do with one. The bigger the better.
They make great storage for pet food.
