What can I do with this carrying case?

Country Design Home on Feb 26, 2015Hi Bryan! I think I had one exactly like that back in the 70's! You could make a very cute side table (with some instant storage) out of it. In keeping with the style, find some old "hairpin" legs like these: http://retrorenovation.com/2014/02/03/9-places-buy-metal-hairpin-table-legs/ for the base. Chrome would be cool since it would match the metal edges. You would need to create a base with some wood or metal that the case and the legs could attach to. I would polish up the leather and chrome and maybe decorate the inside with old newsprint from that era. Fun!Helpful Reply

JoAnn on Feb 26, 2015Hello Bryan, If you happen to be an animal lover and have a pet, it would make an awesome bed for a smaller dog. End table, a key, etc station next to your front door. Not sure how deep it is but it could be used as a medicine cabinet... cocktail station... that is it off the top of my head.Helpful Reply

Liliana Wells on Feb 26, 2015Ilike the idea of putting legs on it opened. You could make acollage of pictures on the top and display a collection of nickknacks in the bottom. Or something similar to thishttp://destinationsvintage3.blogspot.com. Good luck. Send us picturesHelpful Reply

BathGirl on Feb 26, 2015if it fits, you could make under-cabinet storage space for spices, etc. fix the lid under a wall cabinet, add a couple of chains to either side so it only opens part way, chop the handle off, and away you goHelpful Reply

Kelly S on Feb 27, 2015Drill a hole in the back (hinge side) large enough for a power strip plug to go through. mount the strip inside and just like that you have a charging station for electronics. All the adapters/cords fit inside when closed up.Helpful Reply
