What to do with a smooth wood column?

I was given a wooden column, 5 inch diameter, 6 feet tall, smooth texture. I know it is a treasure worthy of greatness, but so far its purpose eludes me. Any ideas?

Are you looking to repurpose and sell it? Maybe paint it like a palm tree. Add some large leaves at the top. Sell it as an outdoor or party decoration.

Is there a way to for to incorporate the column in a Landscaped area? Then it could be used to plant a pretty vine growing up it.

I would bury it a foot or so then add house numbers or solar light, depending on what you would like for your house.

What about finding unique hooks and making it a hall tree/coat rack.

Carve flying birds all around it & build a sturdy good-sized birdhouse atop it (for larger birds) - then dig a hole, put in concrete and 'plant' the new birdhouse in your yard where everyone can see it !

Is it solid wood? That would make a difference as to how it could be used. You could use it as architectural focal point in a room. Dived up, you could create table, etc etc. You could find architectural trims and create a divider in an area that yo might want between two areas in a big open room. You could just find a home for it until you get the lightbulb moment..... Good luck!
