What to do with empty medicine bottles?

Some people donate their medicine bottles to medical missions through their church for doctors in foreign countries to use them to distribute medicines. It does not matter if they are prescription or small over the counter types. Others use medicine bottles to store small quantities of office supplies (like paper clips) or bathroom supplies (like Q tips) in them to take with them out of the home. We use some of our over the counter bottles for dog toys. We cut a hole in the side large enough for dog food pieces to fall out and fill the bottle for the dog to roll on the floor and find treats. They love their toys to roll. Other use the bottles for craft supplies (like small buttons or googly eyes) or sewing centers (like small packets of machine needles or tools to tighten screws etc.) Hope this gives you an idea or two.

I use them for buttons that I remove from a shirt, etc., this keeps the buttons together in a set. I also use them to hold nuts, bolts, screws, washers, etc. that are removed from items so none of the 'hardware' gets lost before I put the item back together after repairing, painting, varnishing, or sanding it. Of course, I always use a black laundry marker to label each bottle's contents before I store it. Note: The ink from the marker can be made permanent by painting clear nail polish over it after it has totally dried or it can be washed off by using an SOS pad on it.

Drop them off at your local veterinarian's office. They'll recycle them for animal meds

I like to save big medicine bottles to put coins or tokens for tolls when I travel. Toothpicks and batteries fit in them, to keep in my travel bags. Lots of organization in my purse. Lotions and creams that I have bigger bottles of it (at home) that I don't want to carry around. I could on, but life is short.

I use a marker, preferably black to mark all info on medicine bottle. Then I use them to store small nails, thumb tacks, etc. or you make ducats after you have marked out all info.

some deprived countries receive their medications in large quantities and do not have enough bottles to distribute them amongst all the patients. you can inquire with your pharmacist or local doctor and see if they don't know of any organizations that will take these bottles. you can also check with some of the larger churches to see if they don't have missions groups in countries like this that will be happy to take the bottles as well.
