I’ve seen them used as wall cladding so I bet you could do this. They do curve so cutting them in smaller pieces might be helpful. It’ll be a great look!
I think that would look really cool. Once you disassemble the barrel, you will have to straighten out the staves. Dampen and place weights on them and slowly over a bit of time they should get to a shape where you can use them.
Yes, the staves will have a curve, you could try to straighten that out or you could let them have thier own shape and put them up as a series of parenthesis around your window.
