How to repurpose wine bottles

Question

I have numerous Carlo Rossi glass jugs. these are the big wine jugs that hold 5 liters of wine. Any ideas on what to use them for? Otherwise I just recycle them. Thanks for any ideas.

In the fall I used several as large containers on the family room floor for cattails, bittersweet, pussy willows, etc. In green they looked very good.

I used to make melted candles like we did in the 70's. Put some soil in the bottom and plant small plants using chop sticks for a terrium.

Put a few stems of cotton stalks, with cotton still attached, and use for decor.

I soak the label off and wash them inside and outside and rinse a couple of times. Fill them full of cold tap water and keep a dozen in the closet for when the electricity goes off. Every couple of months I rotate. I've never regretted it. Only took me one time with all the power out to appreciate them.

I had a bunch.  I poured some slightly diluted glass paint with glitter added inside and shook to  lightly coat .  When dry, I used a lamp kit I got from amazon to make lamps .

I took the label off and hung a tag around the neck that said 'Vacation Fund'. All our change went in and when it was 2/3 full, we had $350. A nice little start.
I also made one for my daughter's wedding that said 'Honeymoon Fund' and put it on the gift table at the reception. A lot of people emptied their pockets.

Put glow in the dark paint in , swirl and put around the yard. Glass paint or any paint ,, swirl it around inside bottle. Let dry. Get the small solar lights from WAl-Mart put in opening and watch how pretty.
