How can I upcycle wood and metal magazine racks?

I was hoping to get some ideas on how to upcycle our old style magazine racks there are the ones that are wood on the surround and then have metal slates on the inside to hold the magazines or books in the center. My first thougt was to turn them upside down and make them into lights fixtures but I don't think I have a place for them. Anyone has any other Idea?Thank you

Unfortunately, the more you have the more your options open for more elaborate designs. You haven't enough to make a complex project.

You can use them to store cutting boards, rolling pins or pot lids
I often find magazine racks at our town swap shop. Usually I use them for magazines which I also find at our TSS. I suppose you could use them to store washclothes in a bathroom, or recipe files, or maybe kitchen implements.
