Very hard to clean & maintain, wood absorbs water attracting mold, go for tile.

You would be making a lot of work for yourself, trimming for length and cutting around electric sockets. And without mold resistant paint (as mentioned above) you would have a mess. Try Peel and Stick tiles - hundreds of wonderful examples onlone.
