If you inherited mirrored closet doors in your house like I did, you might find yourself wishing… that they weren’t there. But also, you might have peeped the cost of closet doors & decided it’s not in the budget (especially true in my case as our closet openings would be a custom size). Luckily I found a way to get rid of the mirrors affordably!

A side by side comparison.

You’ll want to start by taking your doors off the tracks and laying them down flat. Mark the length of your pieces of of peel and stick flooring and cut to size with utility knife.

Apply construction adhesive to the back and stick in place. Use something heavy to weigh them down.

You can use the construction adhesive or liquid nails to glue the handles in place as well. Let them dry and hang them back on the tracks for a completely updated look!

You can also substitute the peel and stick flooring for very thin plywood cut down into smaller strips. Just check how much clearance you have between your sliding doors first!
