How to fix sun damage and then fun design painting. To reduce sun fade thinking need to use medium gray background with dark blue or black for design???

Trim feels plastic, cracked and caved in. What can fix this?

This started the idea. Since hubby is long time fire fighter and we like Ivy vines, looking to somehow incorporate one or both of those.

If it was my door I would paint it a lighter, brighter color to contrast with the darker siding, but in a complementary color like gold or salmon. I wouldn't paint a design since the leaded glass is such a beautiful focal point and any design would compete. You could also go traditional with a bright red door - this would also be stunning.

I painted my front door candy apple red 3 years ago (gets full sun at least 6 hours a day) with minimal fading. I keep a jar of touch-up paint just for this but haven't had to use it. I still think salmon would be gorgeous.

anything in a light tone would be good to contrast with wall, but you could paint the glass using glass markers. its awesome, can get thru Amazon or online companies.
