Hi Michelle, here's a step by step video of how they painted and replaced the hardware on their own storm door. They used Rustoleum paint which is exactly what I would have used too - it will hold up the longest! If you check out the hardware section of your local home improvement store there will lots of new knobs and handles to choose from :)

You could use exterior paint

Sand it and repaint it with primer and outdoor paint.

You could paint the handle. I would use a high traffic paint like RustOleum Painter's Touch. Just make sure it is cleaned well first.

Use semigloss paint and you could buy a replacement handle just take the old or take a pic of it there are diffrent kinds and screw placements

Lowes sells universal handles, I replaced mine. I took it off. Opened the door and shut the house door. I put plastic on my house door. Then I washed the storm door with a good cleaner degreaser. I used Rustoleum Spray paint. I did this about 5 years ago, it still looks new and I have a Lawson too.
