Or paint it a contrasting color so it makes a statement.

You can buy a kit that will make your door look like wood if that is the look you are going for. Or find a beautiful accent color that you are willing to live with and paint the door a pretty color. Add some curtains or lace with a tension rod. Or you can buy window film to cover the window --they have lots of decorative patterns.

Do you know if it will work on metal? who makes it? Sounds interesting. Thank you:)

I have that same door! I bought magnetic curtain rods (top and bottom) that stick to the door (I'm guessing yours is metal like mine?) and made a simple curtain with a rod facing top and bottom tp slide over the rods. It softens the look and can be made inexpensively with a pillow case, bed sheet or cut up shower curtain.

I actually have a magnetic rod on the top that I have a curtain on:) I just really enjoy natural light and seeing outside. Maybe I need to get a more shear fabric that will soften and still allow light . Thanks for the idea:)

good ideas thank you! I like the idea of the wood look. Maybe the wall color or a contrasting color would be easier though. It also is metal so that makes challenges also.

Consider painting the door in a complimentary color to your kitchen décor. They also have blind behind the glass kits at big box stores to add some privacy that should fit that door.

No problem! How about that adhesive film that looks like frosted glass? You could cut sections out of it that you could see through (or lay it down in stripes) or any number of designs....just doing some Out of the Box thinking here!

I just saw somewhere that a woman did that. She cut it in squares and made a diamond design. Looked very neat! I love out of the box!

http://giddingslane.blogspot.com/search/label/doors Here is a site that explains it. Yes. It can be done on a metal door. It is a combination of door paint and gel stain.

I wrestled with this door! Just hated that plastic trim. In my case the glass broke and had to be replaced, which led to the trim breaking. It’s tricky because the screws you see on the interior go through tubes that connect to the exterior side. Thats what holds the glass in place. I removed the trim and used glazers putty to hold the glass in place. Over that I put wood moulding around the perimeter and painted the whole thing. It looked so much better. You probably could fill in those screw holes with caulk and paint the door. I hung a double rod curtain on mine. It‘s certainly not as pretty as the wood door in your pictures, but made it much less an eyesore! Good luck.

Yes! I think that trim is the worst part! I’ve been thinking about how to get rid of it or cover the screw. Wood trim sounds nice, but from the sounds of it caulking may be easier. Thanks for your ideas:)

P.S - I've been to Mount Joy - very pretty community. My sister lives in Denver, PA.

I also believe these doors come with some kind of plug for these holes. But obviously they fall out.
