How to replace sliding glass doors with sliding barn doors?
We have a four season addition(room) that is off of our kitchen and dining room. I was wondering if the sliding glass doors could be replace with sliding barn doors? I love the look of the barn doors.

The barn doors would not have the same weather seal as exterior sliding glass doors and you would also lose the light from the glass. Another thought is the sliding glass doors probably lock so it could also be a safety issue. You could make/buy barn doors for the interior as a decorative feature leaving the sliding glass doors in place. If you do not have to worry about heat loss/cooling factor/safety issues--then by all means--go for it!!
sure -- if there's enough wall space on either side .... sliders only work 1/2 way ... one sliding over the other, Barn doors both move to the outside .. or you can make one stationary ... with a bit of different hardware ... will 'Look' right, but only one panel will slide ...
Security would be my biggest concern. If you find out a way to secure a sliding barn door, please share.
A barn door would also block any light that currently comes in from your four seasons room. Natural light is a welcome commodity in our house. And I agree with Kathy that security is an issue.
