Would you be willing to make your own?
You could build a barn door to go over it, that would be fun and unique, here are some tutorials:

You can order custom sized bifold doors at Menards.
If you want to keep the width available you can look for a sliding door that will fit the width and add hinges and braces on the back. You can change to bi-fold doors. You can purchase the widest door you can find and add a board wide enough to fill the gap ( this will also probably need braces on the back. You can build your own door using beadboard or plywood with a wooden frame. You can build a frame to fit the opening and cover the middle with fabric. You can add boards to the opening to fit the replacement door. Good luck.
Cut down solid doors. We needed a short door for under a staircase so we got one and cut to size.
Just buy the 36" bifold doors, pull off the door trim and then fir out each side with 1 1/2" lumber to narrow the opening to 36" and put a wider molding over the exposed edge. or have a custom door made.
