Space-Saving Door

The "smallest room in the house" has that nickname for a reason. The door to mine swung inside to take up all the floor space.
I wasn't sure what I wanted to replace the swinging door with, so I scoured the internet for ideas. I found a set of bi-fold doors on Craigslist that I thought I could work with. My space even on the outside of the doorway was limited.
I wanted to get them to look like they weren't from the 70's. I started by tearing out the louvers, then screwing two panels together (two sets of two panels). I needed extra height so I added some strips of wood.

The hardware I found on Amazon was a great match for my home. Next, I had plexiglass cut to fit at the local Tap Plastics. A friend cut small strips of wood for edging to hold the plexiglass in place. He also helped with installation.

I am very happy with how it turned out. It looks great and the size of the bathroom seemed to double.
