All the windows in my house need some TLC, they aren't in bad shape and don't need replacement but the frames need a tune up.

I start by scraping out as much of the old caulk as I can.

This will create some holes in the frame which is ok because we are going to reseal them.

Then with new caulk, I fill all those holes, going around the entire frame.

This tool is really helpful but you can also use a finger but make sure to wear gloves. Wipe away excess onto a rag or paper towel.

Once everything has new caulk, paint with high gloss. I have said this before and I will say it again PAINT DOES MATTER. I don't bother with Home Depot brands since it doesn't go on well or last.

Now its time for a good scrub down. For this part I use 1 part vinegar and 1 part warm water with a squirt of dawn in a spray bottle and a brush. Its also important to wash the inside and outsides of your widows. Most have a latch to pull it down to clean. After that, go over it with Windex.

Ok so you can't just hang the same ugly blinds back up! I love these blinds because they go up and down. My kids rooms face the street so I like the idea of having some natural light coming in without anyone being able to see in.

Did you guess it? Yep this is the nursery!! I guess I am what they call "nesting".
