Here is a simple, but very effective, recycling project produced at a very low cost.
First, I cut the ribbons and cord from a high street gift bag.
Mrs B, the owner of our local hardware store, is used to my frequent visits! The shop itself is a small, but very well-stocked 'Aladdin's Cave' for the DIY enthusiast. Tools, kitchenware, cleaning products, screws, hinges and brackets are packed into the 'Tardis-like' space...with Mrs B somehow being able to put her finger on your requirements.
I'm no expert in tool/fittings names and vocabulary, but somehow Mrs B is able to understand my requests. She was puzzled, however, when I tried to describe my latest project...until it was mentioned that I was making a 'Pandora' style tie back using nuts and pipe fittings!
A selection of copper and silver coloured fittings were 'tastefully arranged' on the shop counter, wing nuts at each end to complete the ensemble.
(Apologies to the queue of customers which formed as the creation process ensued!)
A reclaimed piece of chain was added and the ribbon tied into place. I used two cup hooks to secure the tie back to the wall.
A pretty, practical addition to the She Shed...perfect for the lightweight voile dress curtains.
