No Sew Valance

I needed a valance for the landing on our stairwell in the living room. I was unable to find a ready made valance or the fabric to make one that match our furniture. My husband and I headed to a local thrift store and he found two matching pillow shams that match our furniture very well.
I cut the back off of both shame. Then I unsewed the stitches on two corners of each shame.
I ran the curtain rod through the openings if both shams where I unsewed. Then I used large safety pins to hold the the two valence together in the center. Viola, a no sew valance!
