All twisted up with my mini blind cords...

William on Aug 22, 2016You can buy a rope cleat at Walmart, Ace Hardware, Home Depot, Lowes, Menards. Mount it on the side of the window halfway up, facing up and down. When you pull up the blinds you wrap the ropes around the cleat diagonally and they'll be out of the way and won't twist.Helpful Reply

Trudy on Aug 23, 2016Cut the cords as short as you can, while the blind is down, so that it is still functional. Less mess to tangle.Helpful Reply

Mandy Brown on Aug 23, 2016You can also "braid" the cord. Make sure the shade is all the way down and tie off a knot at the point you want the cord to stop. With the remainder of the cord you make a loop next to the knot and pull the leftover portion of the cord next to the loop through making another loop. Pull another piece of leftover cord through that loop making another loop and so on. When making each "loop" you tighten the previous one so it makes a braid. It's like casting on if you knit.Helpful Reply

Marilyn OylerY on Aug 23, 2016By the cleat (!) it's the easiest thing and they're kind of cute. I have one for my bamboo shade and it works perfectly.Helpful Reply

Jill Tulasiewicz on Aug 23, 2016I have cats that used to love to chew our blind cords. I took the end off the cord (mine had little plastic things on the end), threaded nice chunky beads onto the length of the cord and then re-added the end to hold them in place. No tangling, no chewing and they look nice too.Helpful Reply

B. Enne on Aug 23, 2016I used 2 cheapy brass, screw in, coffee mug hooks that I already had, one facing up and one facing down. I used them as a cleat, and hung windchimes from the top hook on one blind, and a macramé plant holder from another blind coffee hook, which hides the cords. The hooks are this type: http://www.homedepot.com/b/Tools-Hardware-Hardware-Fasteners-Metal-Hooks-Eyes-Cup-Hooks/N-5yc1vZc2eaHelpful Reply

Lise on Aug 23, 2016You could use a child's barrett to secure the cords up high near the top of the blind. Or, open the barrett, wrap the cords around the back clip, click it closed.Helpful Reply

Deanna Nassar on Aug 23, 2016The cup hooks sound great. If you have kids or pets make sure the hooks are high enough so they(kids) don't get tangled in the cords.Helpful Reply

Jemma Dee on Aug 25, 2016Glue seashells on a clothespin or clip. If your windows have a metal frame use a clip with a magnet.Helpful Reply

Abbigail Hunter on Oct 31, 2016I have seen coat rack hangers that look like anchors or mermaids, you could put one on the wall next to the window and wrap it around that.Helpful Reply
