Curtain tie backs

Any ideas on making curtain tie backs with the victorian look with the colors burgundy and yellow?

    How about those hooks that look antique and shabby..screw them in on their side at the window and hook the drape back.. you can paint them any color.

    I've recently seen them made from glass door knobs. They'd go with any colors.

    What Terra said and/or you can cover the hooks with any kind of fabric and mod podge. Use any kind of knob or iron piping. Fabric stores also sell heavy braided cording and tassels.

    How about tassles. Look at a Sewing/Upolstery store or a Drapery store for tassle tiebacks. They are very Victorian looking.

    Yes I would go with the tassels , that's what I do and you can get really big ones even at a home goods store, have fun!!

    For tie backs, I have used gold or silver beads. I have used silk greenery (the viney kind) and I have used flower garland. I have used thick colored cord (right now I am using gold colored). I use a pushpin or thumb tack on the side of the woodwork on the window to hold the tie backs.....curtain covers the tack up.
