How can I cover these trapezoid windows?

Any ideas for covering these windows? I’ve put a roll blind on lower half. Helps some, but the summer sun is pouring thru the top . Really difficult to keep the room somewhat cool. Would like to be able to open and close the top for nighttime views.
Ive tried reflective film before. The window cracked !
Any help would be greatly appreciated 
You can buy a film that cuts down on the UV light and heat through the window. You could apply that.
Put a drape of your choice all the way across. Don't cover your trophy you can close them in the day. Keep the shades up. It will look fine. open at night to see the night time sky.
I also have windows like that in my kitchen and because the heat rises, it isn't too bad as far as the heat. Can you put a ceiling fan in the apex of the ceiling? I don't think there is too much you can do to the corner windows other than the reflective film that you already tried.
This may sound dumb, please excuse me if you can. it seems like you are seeking an inside solution, how about a retractable awning of a sort on the outside? It may not be too aestetic, but functional.
If you cut the fabric to the shape you need, you can mount it on tension rods. I would use a sheer fabric so you get the light when you want but it will still cut the heat and the glare. You can make it so it covers the entire space or you can but the fabric so it just fits the triangle shape about the shade. You might have to use three rods for each window if you do that.
Love the retrackable awning idea mentioned by Redcatcec. That seems like the easiest answer as it would give you the ability to open and close this as needed.
Just saw a show on hgtv where the host used a retrackable awning on a beach front home. I know Sunsetter sells a rain/wind sensor, so it auto-retracts.
The only good solution I can think of is custom blinds that are remote controlled. That is what my cousin needed to do. Another solution that might work is to have an auto,glass tint company come tint them.

Hi Holly, someone should have warned you about the coating cracking your glass, the heat has nowhere to go and cracks the glass. If it were me I would put custom louver shutters or if you want to do it very inexpensively, get a patterned window film from Amazon.
Static cling privacy film can be applied and will help to cool the room. I used Rabbitgoo brand and got from Amazon. When you don't want it any longer, removes with no residue.
You could add drapes on the wall that would take care of most of the area, going beam to beam, but I don't really like that idea.

My son had openings like yours in his home and opted to have custom pleated blind installed in each that raised from the bottom. Very expensive but an excellent solution to the problem.
If you do decide to go with the custom plantation shutters, be sure to get the type that have:
1.Hidden Tilt, rather than centre tilt, as they do not chop up the windows as much, therefore making the windows look larger
2.Split Tilt, as this allows either the top or the bottom to be opened independently of each other. This give more flexibility to adjust the shutters according to seasons and different times of the day.

You could possibly make a shade that is the same shape and size as the full window . have it raised from the bottom to the top kind of like the opposite direction of the current shades . that way you could reach total block out or any degree in between . Might even make interesting shadows on the floor!
