We have horizontal blinds on all of our windows, but my soul screams for some sort of window treatment. How can I hang drapes or curtains without nailing or screwing anything to the wall since this is a rental home? Thank you.

I think if you used a light weight enough curtain and rod then you may be able to use command hooks.

  • Call your landlord. If you are willing to purchase rods and leave with the house when you move, I am sure they will not mind and may even install for you too.

you could use velcro on the tops of the windows and the other side on the curtains. You could also velcro curtain rods if fabric was lightweight enough.

Hang curtain rods with the hardware it comes with. After you move, just patch the holes with spackle - if the holes are patched you shouldn't have any problem getting a security deposit back. This should be considered normal wear and tear in most regions.

You can use tension rods. No attachment to the wall, they use tension. Can be found where you buy your curtains, Walmart, Target, Lowes, etc.

I agree with Naomie Moore aka baileyanddaisey on this one. Usually, if you are ”upgrading” something that will add to the home (and willing to leave it in place when you move out), most landlords are happy to oblige.

There is a catalog called, The Best of Collections, etc and it has these rod holders that just slip over the corner of the molding, no screws, nails, or drilling. Then you get the rod and slip it into the holder. Google the company and you will be sure to find it.
