How can I redesign the small square windows over my bed?

I have 3 small square windows in the wall above my bed. They are about 18 inches wide by about 24 inches tall. There is about 12 inches between each. I have put small boxes in each one previously but I am sick of them. What can I do to disguise or minimize the look of this unattractive feature?

You can put some stained glass contact paper on the glass of each window. Since they are behind the bed, I would put a long drapery rod just above the windows. Drapes on the sides and sheer curtains in the middle. This would give the look of of one large window instead of three small ones.

@Lynn Cain Yeah, I can picture it. Two large windows on each side of the bed and the small ones in between the two big ones over the bed. You wouldn't want a whole wall of drapes/curtains. I know I wouldn't. Maybe some other Hometalkers may have ideas.

Home Depot sells window film available in different patterns. It is available in the Decor dept.

Hi Lynn, hope this helps. Plantation shutters will fit snugly in the window without any awkward hanging bars or dangling cords that pool up on the floor or in the sill. Shutters are custom-made, so even the small dimensions can have a fully functional window treatment. Shutters can come in a variety of materials, so they can be easily adapted to multiple styles, and if you choose a faux wood, like Polywood®, you can even receive a great amount of energy efficiency
