Do you knit? Or crochet? You could make simple bands of a couple inches wide with yarn.
I think braiding or crocheting would look nice. Mauling them thicker and add an end if some type if you will tie in the front.
Hello. Perhaps braiding weaving or a needle pointing them might be options to consider. Certainly a nice custom look.
Braided ones would be fun

Each year at Christmas time I make a red yarn tieback, braided, and put a red poincetia on the tie, or instead of a flower, hang three small colorful glass ornaments on the tie back. Looks festive. For spring I have used artificial green ivy as a tieback, with a flower of some sort attached or do just the ivy.
If you don't want to sew, I have taken a length of small chain and used that for a tie back. Depends on your decor. Right now, i have black curtain rods and shower rod in my bathroom and I have black chain tie backs.
It depends whether you knit or crochet. Braided ones will totally work!
That sounds like a nice project, it'll be custom and all your own! Have you tried the search bar at the top left to see if others have posted projects? If there aren't any, do a search by image on Google for ideas.

You could braid the yarn and add beads to the yarn as you go. Maybe make a tassel for the ends.
