More simpler solution would be to use liquid starch. Soak the lace in the starch, wring it out and put it on the window. A lot of renters use this method to put temporary fabric on walls like wallpaper.

You could soak the lace in liquid laundry starch. Then wring the lace out leaving it very damp. From that point you can put the lace on windows and work it around while eliminating wrinkles and pockets of air. This technique is used a lot by renters. You can use most kinds of fabric and apply it to walls too. No nails necessary. When you move, you can peel the fabric away from its surface and reuse. I hope this helps you.
