How should I decorate the windows?

Re-doing bdrm after 28yrs. Have custom black oak furniture: planning light violet walls; light grey laminate flooring (done in herringbone pattern) and area rugs (not yet decided). Want to brighten, excite room. What should I do with window decor? Thnx.

My advice is to choose your comforter, quilt or bedspread next. If it is a pattern, pull some of the colors from the pattern for window treatments.
Thank you 4 responding. I'm thinking I'll have a patterned (embroidered, stitched etc), plain deep purple bedspread. I want the area rugs and possibly windows to have color patterns. Looking at sheer white curtains (full length) w/ltwt. drapes and patterned shades. Really appreciate u sharing ur expertise.
