You could find a fabric you like and Mod Podge it on.
Contact paper would work.
You could Mod Podge some fabric onto the plastic top.
Hang a curtain rod in front of it and use any valance or your choice.
Pretty fabric that coordinates with your decor. I took that valance down and put up a double curtain rod. Sheers underneath and lightweight drapes on top for a nice layered look.
