How to hang curtains here?

I would like to hang curtains in this room, but trying to place a rod here doesnt work as the white part above the window juts out beyond the rod and the curtains won't hang well. I'm looking for a possible way to hang without a rod, or if anyone had been in this situation before what have you done? Thanks!

Nobody said the curtains have to cover just the window. Use a longer rod even if it covers part of the wall. Can't see the top too well but it doesn't look that much bigger than the window and may be mostly a part of the blinds.

You can buy curtain rod extensions that you can adjust to go beyond the blinds. Bed Bath & Beyond, Home Depot, Lowes carry them.

Add 2 blocks of wood thicker than the white molding above the window. (painted the same colour as the wall) 1 on each side where you will be placing the brackets. Then attach the rod brackets to the wood.

You can use medium size cup hooks and 1/4 inch hot water pvc pipe , place the pipe inside of the cup hooks and hang curtains. Or pass them through the pipe depending on the type of curtain. You can also paint the pipe any color or leave it white . I have done this to hang shears over garden tub window very inexpensive, looks great.

Thank you! Do you have any pictures of this so I can get a better idea of how it looks? Thanks!

Decorative Medallions. They can project from the wall far enoungh to extend past the blind header. However, your curtains would be stationary.

No sorry, it was in an apt we lived in a few years ago. We did have to trim one end off the rod to make it fit better

If the curtain is just for some privacy you could use a tension rod in window with a sheer in front of the blind. If for decor you could build a foam board cornice to hide curtain rod & top of blind allowing you to hang any type of curtains.

They make rods that stand out further from the wall, had that problem myself years ago. Sorry, I can't remember what they're called, but they're out there.

I have this situation. I used two short rods on either side of the window to hang stationary drapery panels. With the blinds for privacy and light control, the panels merely are decorative. You can position the rods at any height you'd like. Mine here are high above the window to balance out the very high ceilings in the room. The rods are simple cafe curtain rods that we cut down a little to the length we wanted. They're easily purchased anywhere curtain rods are sold and very cost effective. You can even spray paint them the color you want. In this case we purchased gold ones (because they were on sale) and we spray painted them oil rubbed bronze.

Put two blocks of wood extending out on either side of the top blind railing and attach the rod.

While my window issue is different from yours, my solution is up for grabs. I put 2 narrow bookcases on each side of the window. I then hung curtains from a rod installed in the ceiling. I used to chandelier hooks to place the rod into. The curtains line up with the front of the bookcases and you cannot see my problem window. I stole the ceiling idea from an IKEA showroom.
