How can I remove tinted film residue?

We are removing tinted film on our house windows and need know what to use to remove the residue left .

Ammonia will work
I use a flat razor intended for glass. If it's really sticky, I have used goo gone to remove it. Of course then you have to clean the residue off the glass, so use it sparingly.
