Instructions will vary by brand. Brackets and top rail are different. The inexpensive mini blinds you find in most stores have side brackets or top brackets. I have attached a link but it may not match your purchase. I suggest trying youtube for installation of the brand and type you want to install. Hope this helps

Window blinds are easy to put up. I put all of mine up myself. Read your instructions and they will walk you through the process or you can always get on Youtube if your better and seeing it done over reading how to do it. Youtube is a great place to see how to do or fix anything but make sure they are hanging the exact kind of blinds you want to hang since some may be slightly different. Good Luck! Don't worry it's easy!

measure. Will you be hanging on top of window, inside window, or outer edge of window? You will see on the box of blinds it shows the measurement for the window and right below it gives you the actual size of blind. That's why deciding how you will hang the blinds is the first thing to do, then measure. Consider the space. Is there a lot of room on each side of the window, or does one side meet up into a corner? things like that will make a difference. If you aren't going to use curtains I would hang the blinds where the top is above your window and blinds are wide enough to go from one side to the other. If you are putting up curtains, then set the blinds so that the hang on the inside of window, top to bottom and side to side. Measure based on how you will hang them. The faux wood, with flat smooth, wide slatted blinds look really nice and are easy to clean, and priced reasonable. The install is pretty easy too. Don't be intimidated. Lowe's or home Depot will cut them to fit your window (length). I strongly suggest not using vinyl or plastic, they are terrible to clean and get yellow as they age.
