My matchstick blinds need a new cord. Help!

Blinds are in good shape, but strings have broken due to sun exposure. Outside of re-stringing (which I don't have a clue how to do), or replacing the blinds, any possible hacks to raise & lower the blinds? Thanks!

Do you have a picture? If they are what I think they are.....you may be able to add a fabric backing to them and use pretty matching fabric or matching ribbon to tie them up.
