How do I put up temporary blinds?

I just moved into my new home this last summer. I currently have semi sheers with curtains to close at night. I really really don’t want to put up some sort of mini blinds but with the intense sunlight in the summer I’m afraid I might have to cave. Is there any way to attach some sort of non permanent blind solution anyone is aware of that I can test for awhile before I make a more permanent decision? I know I can pull the blinds up and down but I just want to make sure I like it before I spend a ton of money having them installed. I’m not interested in the paper ones. Ultimately I will put in the wider plantation type if I decide to make it more permanent. Thanks!

I had a similar problem with my sidelight windows. I didn't want old-fashioned sheers or blinds. So I created Entri Window Panels. They are modern curtain panels that attach with velcro. I put them up at night for privacy and take them down during the day to let the light in. I sell pre-made panels in a standard size but also sell the pattern so people can make their own: https://entriways.com/sidelight-curtains/

    Hi Pam,

Since you already have curtain rods in place, have you considered room darkening insulated drapes?

We put them over our patio door to block heat and intense sun rays in the summer and cold in the winter. Got them at Walmart with grommet rings on top, many nice styles and fabrics. They work very well for both seasons.

I already have the two sets of curtains on double rods. But I want sunlight to come in year round but the nc summaun is brutal. Even through the semi sheers I noticed my closing curtains are starting to fade. I’m looking specifically for some sort of blind to filter even more in the summer

Check out Amazon, I'm think of two very different products that I have used in the past. One is a temporary paper blind which is put up with double sided tape, and it removed easily once I decided on a more permanent solution. The other product I used for a Skylight, which I'm sure you know is angular and I had no idea what to do. It's a "privacy film" almost like tinting. It helps, but not great.. TBH, but again it is a temporary fix. Good luck

I used opaque shower curtain liners cut to the width and length of the window jambs and adjustable curtain rods to hang curtains between the interior jambs. By hanging curtains using small binder rings that I got from Dollar Tree, allows me to open and close them at my leisure. I hate window blinds and shades but wanted privacy and still have natural light come in. It may seem strange to some but I absolutely LOVE them as did my Mom and ex-daughter-in-law. I did EVERY window in my house, bedroom widows at my mother's place and the living room and dining room at my ex-daughter-in-law's place. I kind of spiced them up by putting duct tape to match the decor in each room but that is not necessary. Opaque shower curtain liners and adjustable rods are "Cheap" at Wal-Mart.

How about inexpensive roller shades? They are easily installed, just two little brackets to hold them, and they roll up out of the way when you don't want them. When you've decide on permanent window treatments, they're easily removed.
