I'd put up insulated curtains. They help with the electric bills !!!
Are you looking for privacy? Or are you looking to cut down the sun? There are several options depending on what your Decor is, one would be to add a solar film to the outside which keeps people from seeing inside but doesn’t obstruct your view. Then if that’s the route you chose to go, perhaps do swags intermittently to soften the windows up.
plantation shutters are beautiful. The slats can be opened or closed.
Tinted marine vinyl
Well, there are obviously solar vinyl coverings for windows. Real Simpie has a line of great looking Roller Shades to buy from Bed Bath. At 120” tall, I’d almost be tempted to use two on each window, giving you a special version of up/down shades.
With windows that size, I’d look real hard at what’s available on the Commercial market (Office buildings), etc
On our last visit to AZ, we noticed that some clever people had installed Bermuda shutters on exterior of house. Larson shutter.com offers a variety, as I’m sure do others. These shutters, which hang from the Top of the window are all over Italy, Spain and Portugal and make Great sense. You can adjust the angle and still get a breeze if you want one.
Im jealous, because they look stupid on my NJ house.
I like the reflective window film that comes in 4 colors, platinum, gold and bronze and black. You can see out but it reflects light away keeping you color with little UV damage.... https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dpets&field-keywords=reflective+window+film
That’s certainly an option. Personally, I love being able to see out and it looks like you have a beautiful view. Bahama shutters are very nice and they will help to keep the sun from hitting the glass but they will block your view. But it sounds like you’ve got several options.
what's your budget?
I think I can help you with this because I had a similar situation a few weeks ago. The issue was quite complicated but I got help from joinerysolutionssw.co.uk I found salvation here because this company helps to make joinery out of different materials and it turns out to be of incredible quality. I tried it out and was very impressed with the result of their work. I think you will find it useful and effective, as I did. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. PM me.
