One of easiest way to get privacy and yet have light is to get some of that film you can purchase at the big box stores. You can get plain frosted or something that looks like stained glass. It is applied and removed with water.

I budget allows stained glass....the clear frosted beveled type is lovely.
love the stuff decreased the amount of cold on the glass windows. The world largest on line realter A has them available. Check at Wally World as well.
You can use contact paper to create faux- stained glass and privacy!
I have wood shutters on the bottom. A roll up shade (rolled up) if needed for privacy. And sheer curtain accent color I am using in the room.
