Repurposed Rolling Pin Window Valance

6 Materials
I have a collection of wooden rolling pins and I repurposed one into a fun window valance during my current diy kitchen makeover.

Here's the supplies that I needed: a rolling pin, a hammer, a finishing nail, red paint, a red marker, and some 1 1/4" hooks.

I wanted to have a phrase on the pin so I printed it out on my computer, and outlined the letters with a finishing nail using a hammer.

Here's what it looks like.

Then I simply connected the dots with a red marker.

The wooden handles needed a little colour.

And I needed a few holes for the hooks.

And then I hung it up in the window.

I hung some of my vintage kitchen gadgets so it looks like a fun window valance. I can easily reach the gadgets and I can change them as I like. The whisk on the right isn't vintage, but I'm on the lookout for one now.

Cute, by why cover up a window? Is it looking at a wall or something unsightly?
