From the time I saw how to do Faux mercury glass have been trying to figure out how to do it in blue, I just adore blue. I got it! And I want to share it with you. Mason jars and dollar store finds never looked this good! Also WIN this Fabulous set of vases! Why work when you can win!
This is my favoooooooorite project and I guess people agree because it has been my most popular post. The second I saw DIY (Faux) mercury glass. I had one question how can I do it in blue? I needed it to be waterproof because if I have a pretty vase I want to puy water in it. I figured it out how to do it using a hard to find glass paint called Pebeo Vitrea 160. The outcome was gorgeous but Looking Glass paint, the other paint need in the project, is also hard to find. No worries, I have links to but what you need on amazon. Check out the tutorial.
This is my Blue Stenciled Table. I decided to cover every possible surface with stencil and this is the outcome. My Blue Festooned Table!
When I started to show people the projects I was working on much to my surprise people started to take sides between one table verses the next. Loving the Stencil and not liking the Mosaic, at all, Hmm which do you prefer
It is simple step by step guide on how to make a soap or lotion dispenser out of any old jar and lid. Mine are masons due to my mason addiction. I have also included a link to color your glass in a gorgeous vintage blue. Now I am seeing premade tops in craft stores like Michaels and Joanns but if you are more adventurous you can follow these instructions. So get crafting people its pretty easy. Just like all my projects. Here is the link to color plain ole glass
I call my 87 year old neighbor Ron the orchid whisper. I am a little off my normal topic. I thought the story of this modest man would be fabulous for my local lifestyle magazine Pompano Today (check the fab city I live in). My friend at the magazine agreed. The only problem was that Ron didn’t agree. He didn’t want a story done on him. Awww, I was disappointed. He would have made a great story and I thought his techniques should be shared. So it was up to me to share his simple steps.
He lives in a simple modest 1 bedroom apartment in front of his home is a wonderland, about 9 gorgeous orchids. When they are all blooming their beauty will take your breath away. I was stunned when I first saw them. “What do you do?” I asked him. What he does is so simple. I have asked him again and again because I just couldn't believe his technique was so easy.
This is what he does. His orchids are planted in loosely packed regular soil, he puts two ice cubes on each plant every other day, he applies orchid fertilizer every two weeks. That’s it....
First there was one small vase that sold over and over, then there was another size that did well and now I have found a third bigger size my customers have been asking for. It will be a great wedding center piece I think. I am loving sharing the vase to take silver style up a notch. Check out my DIY tutorial how to make your Faux mercury in almost any color.

I have been a painter all my life. I still use the same painting apron I got when I was 9. Some of my first subjects were my cats. My cats that I have had and adored all my life. I love to paint cats and I deceived to do that again....
From the second I saw this girl I loved her. She was at a friends’ house and I begged for her even though I knew it was obnoxious. I was in love.
When I first got her she had a brownish glaze, no picture sorry. I didn’t think that mouseish finish was worth of her beauty. I would refinish her, because that’s what I do. Did refinish her in my verdigris finish. I wanted her to look like a statue that had been outside for years, her patina starting to tarnish.
I was thrilled. I loved her even more. I was sure she would sell quickly. Of course she would she was gorgeous. Well she didn’t she sat in my shop for over a year. I still loved her but why did no one else.
