Painted Coffee Table inspired by Tonya Miller Dean|Hemets 1964 coffee table

I was looking around Hometalk and saw a beautiful coffee table that was posted by Tonya Dean Hemet and I was inspired. I wanted to do something similar but didn't have a similar coffee table to paint. Enter Craigs List and a $10 coffee table. See for yourself what a transformation with some distressed homemade chalk paint and poly stain on top.
Thanks Tonya for giving me the idea for this table :)

Foam Crown Moulding - It's so easy. Completed Job Pictures

Installing foam crown moulding, its so EASY and the kitchen was under $100 Completed Pictures Added
I am installing styrofoam crown moulding for the second time. This time in my kitchen. If you love the look of crown moulding but don't have the skill or $$ for wood this is a great alternative. It looks just like high end crown moulding after you paint it. It is so easy because the back is flat for easy cutting and positioning.
I took some before, during and after pictures.I buy the crown moulding from www.creativecrown.com. P.S. I don't work for them nor did they ask me to endorse them.

pedestal for my dish detergent, crafts, repurposing upcycling

Pedestal for my dish detergent

I had seen a pedestal used in a bathroom for soaps and other things and though I would make one for the kitchen. I used a short pillar candle holder which I spray painted and a painted tin plate which was already green and matched the kitchen. I bought both at a second hand store.I attached the pillar to the plate with clear caulking. It keeps things off the counter and looks nice too.

Cutting Edge Stencils Holiday Project

I was given the opportunity to be involved in a challenge to do a project using a Cutting Edge brand stencil
This was a fun project. I was able to use supplies I had on hand and sticks and pine cones from my yard. The only thing I purchased was the cute little squirrel.

my other craigs list table any ideas on how to paint this one, chalk paint, painted furniture

My other Craigs List table.....any ideas on how to paint this one?

This is a nice table with a marble top. I think a vibrant color chalk paint against the light marble top would be the best for this little gem. All suggestion welcome.:)

The "Lincoln" table

I had this cool table with a lip all around the edge that was just screaming out that it wanted something different done to it.

my first attempt at chalk paint, chalk paint, painted furniture, shabby chic

My first attempt at chalk paint

I scored a coffee table, a marble top end table and a round end table with doors and underneath storage all for only $25.00 ! I wanted something to try my hand at chalk paint. I mixed homemade chalk paint and here is the coffee table with the first coat. I'm debating whether to paint the top or do a stain. I like the contrast so far so I may just stain the top. The coffee table has great details for the shabby chic look I'm going for. All the items were in great shape and could be used as I bought them .

My McKenzie Child's Inspired table

drum table diy chalk paint re do, chalk paint, painted furniture, outside before

Drum Table DIY chalk paint re-do

A while back I posted pictures of a couple of tables I bought from Craigs list for $10 each. I painted the "drum table" as I call it. I started by making chalk paint out of a color called summer white, which is a very very pale green, in fact I've been using that color as my white base on everything I want to use white chalk paint on. I stenciled on the doors and the top then very lightly dry brushed and wiped away with the same green I used to stencil. I then distressed and then clear waxed. The table came with a glass top so I put it back on to protect the finish.
I also painted the inside with the green color but didn't take a picture before I loaded it up with magazines.
