FALL- Front Door

This project literally cost me $1, I wanted something for the front door. I understand this project has been done a "gazillion times", but I had to put my own twist on it. I found all the materials in my home, except for the leaves they came from the dollar tree for $1 for fifty and they actually have some sustenance.

deck to desert delight

Deck to Desert Delight

My husband and I recently wanted to redo the back deck because the wood was starting to look old and dilapidated. After a plethora or estimates and approximates the cost literally "blew my hair off along with them asking for an arm and two legs" . The cost was just more than we wanted to spend . We decided to do it our selves.

Porcelain Sink Like New

My kitchen sink is white and became old and rusted with stains, no matter how much I scrubbed and bleached it! I was still a little embarrassed when guest came over and offered to help clean up, I would try to deter them because of my shameful kitchen sink.

Planter Pots Make Over for Spring!

My two planter that sit by the pool ,were long due for a make over. These two concrete pots began to be an eyesore, so I needed to do something to lighten up the yard along without throwing away my Planters.

it was a sweet masquerade ball or bust

It Was a Sweet Masquerade Ball or Bust!

I was given the opportunity to put together the candy table at a masquerade birthday party. What fun! I wanted to center the table around the person who was being celebrated. Masquerade balls were an element of the Carnival season in the 15th century, and interweaved increasingly elaborate symbolic Royal entries, pageants, and triumphal processions celebrating marriages and other dynastic events of late medieval court life.

the new years eve ball drop

The New Years Eve Ball Drop

I have seen this idea on several occasions, and I always wanted to try it. so this year I did , and I love it and my husband is such a straight lines stickler! he liked it too. it was a very simple project and gave the room a look that said Happy New years!!I never knew the history of the New Years eve ball drop and being a New Yorker I felt I should have- shame om me! Well here it goes the ball began in (1907–1908) The first New years Eve Celebration was in Times Square and was held on December 31st in 1904. At the time the owner was , Adolph Ochs, this man decided to commemorate the beginning of the newspaper Headquarters at One Times Square, along with fire displays which were done on the roof….. of the building who knew?. This was done to bring in 1905. I tried it with just some simple string and Christmas balls hanging from my light in my dining room. If there is not a chandelier in place or lighting fixture .I'm sure a few inconspicuous thumb tacks in the ceiling would hurt. Give it a try it was fun!

new years resolution reef

New Years Resolution Wreath

When asked what is my New Year’s resolution I always cringe because I actually dislike the whole Idea, but one has to start somewhere why not the first of the year…initially I had already decided that eating better-not so much about losing weight or dieting, but eating healthy. My resolution is to eat no unnatural sugars, less saturated fat, trans fat, free sugars and salt, Eat more vegetables and fruit. I’ve discovered that more than fifty percent (50%) of adults and around more than children (ages 4 to 8 years old) do not consume five (5) servings of vegetables, and fruit each day. This resolution will force me to fill half of my plate with vegetables, and fruit at all meals and snacks. My next resolution is to exercise more-I already run several miles a day, lift weights, and I always have told myself every little bit counts. Any amount of movement. This is not a try to get fit for 2018, but to eat better exercise, because I have discovered that the more that I exercise and eat right leaving out sugars, there’s such a big difference in my mental capacity along with not feeling stuffed when I put on that favorite garment. Just so that I can feel better.
