When I finished our Screen Porch Makeover I thought I had plenty of light with the outdoor chandelier but I was wrong! I like to have my quiet time on the porch before the sun comes up and there just wasn't enough light to read. So I came up with the absolute easiest light in the world using everyone's favorite thing, Mason Jars! Adding some tiny white lights, twine wire, burlap ribbon and a great wall hook and in just minutes my comfy chair had the perfect light to read before daybreak!
Remember when we got rid of the microwave over the stove-top? We added a Rustic Range Hood...but where was the microwave going? Right here! We opened up cabinets and created a 'built-in' cupboard look - adding an easy Microwave Cubby for a counter-depth microwave! This is one of my top 5 Favorite DIY's that we've ever done...
We just finished our Laundry Room Makeover! Vintage Linens were my inspiration and I used them to make a valance and framed some for the walls! Bead board on the walls and cabinet fronts brighten up the space while rustic shelving adds warmth...come on over friends and bring your dirty clothes, I don't mind doing laundry anymore ! xo
I'm doing a screen porch makeover at the moment and wanted to add a bit of light over the drop-leaf table. Using some grapevine balls and white lights with brown wires I put together an little porch chandy in no time!
I'm doing a makeover on my screen porch and I'm doing it on a shoestring budget! The screen porch was built last year over a part of our existing deck and the floors were less than pretty. When pricing everything I wanted to do on the porch with almost no money, I decided to stain the floors in a semi-transparent white. When I got the stain on, I wasn't thrilled so I experimented with wiping a little of the stain off to give them a distressed look. Here's what I came up with! This isn't for everybody, some of you guys might not like it-I understand, but I'm happy and I spent only $33.00 at Home Depot for the stain!
The backyard renovation has been our longest project to date...The Husband did almost all of this enormous makeover by himself! He only hired a Bobcat operator and 2 helpers to install the pavers...other than that, it's been a 1 man job! The full makeover is on the blog~
Once upon a time our microwave was the focal point for our entire open concept living area...it was HUGE and demanded attention because of the placement! We finally got rid of it and added an EASY Rustic Range Hood that doubles as a shelf that we can decorate for every season!
