My Mission:Go to the dollar store and come home with an idea and the supplies for a Menu Planning Board.Make it.Share the How-to.Mission accomplished! If there were mountains where I live I would be singing the joys of Menu Planning from the top of them. (Seriously. Think: twirling Julie Andrews at the start of the Sound of Music. That would be me.)
Have you ever wanted to put an over-the-range microwave over your range (of all places!), but thought you didn't have enough space? We thought that too. But, like us, you might be mistaken - we were able to install one of these space saving dynamos in our kitchen without too much hassle or expense. Here's how we hacked our kitchen cupboard to make an over-the-range microwave fit...
I hadn't even heard of beadboard paintable wallpaper until I saw on Pinterest. It was love at first sight. I knew this would be a simple and inexpensive way to breathe some character into our bland main floor bathroom. This product has so much going for it.
I've had this fruit-style "art" on display for so much longer than I ever meant to. I found them (including frames) for a steal - $10 each! And when I bought them I meant to do something more interesting with the 'art'.
Hundreds of thousands of readers have visited our post to learn how we made our brick driveway weed-free. We've heard great success stories from lots of people! Six years later it's time to update you on how it's doing - and to make a couple of improvements.
Do you have a staircase in your house? Does it have a landing or a ‘dead zone’ at the top where usable space is just sitting there, doing nothing? Or is there some other nook or cranny that would benefit from a built-in? (Your house has a cranny? Really?)We did. In fact, we did several years ago when we first did this project. (Note: please excuse the amateurish step-by-step photos - they are a few years old - back before we even started blogging! We weren't the professionals you see today. 😉)
Today is our son's 12th birthday and I thought it was a good time to do a project I'd been planning for this summer. He is loving doing big projects more and more and I liked the idea of something we could knock out in an afternoon and have fun with.Enter Giant-JENGA!My goal was to figure out how to build a giant Jenga game that's fun, but also weather-proof and pretty enough to leave out, even if no one was playing.
When we built our IKEA hacked wall-to-wall bookcase, we knew we wanted to add library lights. We love the mood that bookshelf lighting brings - warm light that highlights our books and our wall-to-wall bookcase. 😍 It adds so much character and ambiance to the room.
I LOVE a dramatic before and after - you too? And this room has me smitten. Our vision was to create a cozy welcoming guest room that doesn't feel like it's in the basement. Have we achieved that?
