Secretary in Black Lace

These are the before pictures of this project. We finished this beautiful Secretary Desk, with a sexy little black lace finish. We created an entirely new finish with Lace and Wood Icing Textura PasteNotice the attached embellishments and the damaged veneer on the drawer front. These kind of challenges are what makes Textura Paste the best choice for repairs and creating unique textured finishes. It is the most durable and color accepting product on today's market.

Creating a Temproary Floor

I needed a wood floor to stage my furniture photos on. So, my first thought was to buy a section of hardwood flooring and set up a staging area at the store But my husband said. Why don't you just paint a fake floor on a thin sheet of pressed board? That way you can move it around and set it up yourself whenever you need it. And I can create more than one color and style. Duh, why didn't I think of that? This is how I did it in one very short afternoon.

How to Use Lace With Wood Icing® Textura Paste

Quick little video showing how to use lace with Wood Icing® Textura Paste
I show how to spread the Textura Paste over the top of lace. And I also show how to press lace into the Textura Paste. We paint both with Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan. We used this technique on the Flag project we posted.

Wood Icing's July 4th Wall Art

This Textured Flag was created on outdoor rough cut paneling. I used Wood Icing® Textura Paste and created the rose lace pattern on the red/orange stripes and on the white strips I used a Rose stencil for the raised relief. We made the stars with a Silhouette Stencil maker and created the raised stars. The Paint was Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan.
