I just love making Christmas ornaments out of little bits and pieces I collect over the year. I store things away and then pull it all out this time to see what I can come up with for decorating, gift giving and selling in my booth.
I made these flowers from forks, faucet knobs and "fancy" bobbles a few years ago. If you are like me and have a hard time keeping the real ones alive...this idea might be an idea for you ;)
I tuck them in here and there for pops of color and whimsy...plus a couple of other plant stake ideas for fun.
I've always dreamed of having a canopy bed...somewhere along the way it switched from "pink and frilly" to "neutral and junky". I am very happy with how it turned out.
My engineer husband very securely attached the brackets to the walls and the old ladder to the brackets...no worries :) Then I draped 2 matching painters drop cloths over 2 of the rungs of the ladder. That's it...easy!

I've had these old drawers hanging on the wall as a shelf for a few years now...but I think they got a "new life" when I added this cool sign that I purchased from my friend. Don't you??
My son's bedroom is REALLY small...so we decided to loft his bed to make more space. By re-purposing pallet racking and a metal corn crib ladder, we created a fun industrial vibe that will grow with him. He might even take it to college for his dorm room someday :)
I found a couple of chipped vases at a garage sale recently. They were past their "water holding" prime but I decided to focus on their lovely curves and give them a new life and a fun and funky way.
I kept the mantel simple this year...using what I already had...plus a mix of greens and fun ball lights for a garland. I especially love the warm glow at night...
I have done lots of decorating with jars...and now I have a BIG stash of leftover lids and rims. This is a simple idea I came up to repurpose some of those "lonely rims" into cute little ornaments for your tree...
I was looking for an easier way to store all my Kuerig K-cups....I made this stand using old cake pans, a chippy stool leg and a disgarded curtain rod finial. More photos and details on my website www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com :)
