Vintage Playing Cards Original Wall Art

I had been planning to do something cool with a deck of vintage playing cards when I found the right ones with really nice artwork. I got a hold of these French playing cards that were perfect. After a lot of lining up and driving in small nail tacks, the cards were in place. I used some metal came from my stained glass supplies to frame things up. I used some vintage cloth ribbon measuring tape to continue the number theme. I used some metallic silver paint and some distressing to finalize things. The hinges on top are from an antique sewing machine. I finished everything in a few coats of polyurethane.

This looks amazing. I have a set of playing cards, not old ones, featuring the kings and queens of England. I have not wanted to use them to play cards but this would be a great way to display them.

    This is wonderful!

I have a few decks from my Pépère around the house that he bought in sometime between the 30's and 50's, some in French. Well, Quebecois.

My partner's grandfather left him some glass wash boards from [his] first laundromat.

I think that my cards with his wash boards would be awesome.

    Thank you for this.
