The Easiest Way to Remove Old Wax From a Candle Jar
One of my most favorite things to do when I'm relaxing around the house is to burn a sweet smelling candle. I must get this from my Dad actually because he always seems to have one burning.
But what happens when you get to the bottom of the candle? There always seems to still be a little bit of wax left that won't burn down and that awful and messy black residue. You don't want to just throw the nice glass jar out. Now you don't have to. I have the easiest and quickest steps to remove that old wax and residue and have your jar shining in no time. Plus the best part is it's not even messy either.
First start by making cuts in the bottom of the wax cutting the candle in half and then again in fourths. Cut more slits until it's in eighths. Then take the knife and cut around the entire circumference of the wax to help release it from the edges. *Be careful using a knife.
Then take a fork and use it to start lifting the wax up and remove it from the jar.
Pour some Goo Gone on a cloth and start wiping the glass jar until all the wax and residue has been removed. Also use the Goo Gone to help remove any labels or stickers. The Goo Gone helps take a lot of the work out of it where you don't have to scrub really hard.

All one has to do is freeze them! The wax shrinks and then it just pops right out! My goodness that's too much work you put into getting it out! Please try the freezer!

Used dryer sheets are the easiest way for me to remove remaining wax residue. I freeze the candle jars first to remove the bulk of the wax and then just wipe out the jars with a sheet or two to get what's left. The sheets also remove the soot that builds up on the glass in between burns. Just make sure jar is cooled before attempting to wipe out!
