An Octonauts Big Boy Bedroom

Several months ago we started working on getting what used to be the spare bedroom ready for our son's big boy room. Originally he wanted his room to stay pirates, but changed it to the Octonauts. If you've ever tried looking for stuff for an Octonauts themed bedroom, you know that there's hardly anything to buy here in the US.
The spare bedroom was actually a blank canvas. We have lived in our house for almost eight years and never got around to painting the room. We did have the paint picked out and luckily for us it worked great with the underwater theme of the Octonauts.
You can't see it that well in the picture, but there are some bubbles that came with the wall decals amongst the wall art. The Octonaut logo was actually made by my husband and I.
When looking for some wall art, we didn't find much out there. Several months ago, Michael had taken his one and only Octonaut book and ripped many pages out of it. I decided that there were several pages that could be used for his new room as wall art.
I was originally going to buy a pirate ship lamp from Target, but for less than the cost of the lamp at Target my husband was able to make an Octonauts lamp.
We decided that our son would graduate up to the twin bed instead of spending the money to convert his toddler bed to a full. My mother-in-law bought him the sea creature bed sheets from Home Goods. We had bought the small Octonaut stuffed animals last year from Walmart and the sign above his bed is from Hobby Lobby. The wall decals were the only thing that I was able to find online and were purchased from an online party store.

To see what else we made/purchased for our son's Octonauts themed bedroom, check out my blog post.
