Ikea Cabinet Refreshed With a Shabby Chic, Coastal Look

This media cabinet from Ikea was brought to me by wonderful, new clients. The chocolate brown finish didn't go with the new decor in their home. But this piece is in good shape and its size fit well in their home.
I set to sanding the finish right away.....What a job!!!! Ikea put one tough finish on this cabinet.
These are the products I used on this project. The clients picked a beautiful color by Benjamin Moore, called Aspen Skies. Just the perfect shade for beachy blue. I also used my favorite products on this cabinet: Kilz primer, Rust-oleum's Java Brown Decorative Glaze (not pictured here) and General Finishes High Performance Top Coat in Flat.
This project definitely took some time. Painted both inside and out, 2 doors and 5 shelves. Each piece was primed, painted, distressed and antiqued with the warm brown glaze. Finally, the entire piece was sealed with General Finishes High Performance Top Coat. Since this is a cabinet that gets a lot of use, I gave the top 6 coats of sealant.
And here are the final results!!!
The original silver tone knobs where swapped out for these vintage brass knobs...a ReStore Habitat find.
I can't wait for my clients to see the results!!!!

I love your makeover, but I liked it before also. I'm neutral on this...

Very pretty but I would appreciate seeing the steps that you took to complete the project.
