Cupcake Love! A personalized dog treat jar just for the crazy little pup herself.
Meet the inspiration - Cupcake!
Sad to say, this is what we used to use for the dog treats...a Sephora shopping bag. Not only is this not beautiful and chic in any way, it's a home décor disaster!
Only a few materials were required for this project: contact paper (not shown), a foam brush and glass etching cream.
Of course you will need a sturdy glass container of your choice. This one was only $3!
If you have an electronic cutting machine like a Silhouette or Cricut, create your design and cut it out on the contact paper (as shown). Don't have a machine like this? No worries! You can do it the old fashion way by cutting the contact paper with scissors or a straight edge. This will act as your contact paper stencil for the etching cream.
Next, adhere the contact paper to your glassware...firmly!

TIP: Ensure the contact paper is completely adhered to the glass otherwise the etching cream can and will seep under it. Anywhere the cream touches will absolutely get etched, you don't want this to happen!
Use the foam brush to apply the glass etching cream.

TIP: Instead of brushing the cream onto the glass, DAB it on using the brush. This will prevent the cream from getting under the paper and accidentally etching where you do not intend.
Wait about 5 minutes and rinse the cream off with water. If there is extra cream, use a credit card or spatula to scrape it all off.

TIP: Don't worry! If it seems like the glass hasn't been etched, never fear. Take your stencil off and allow the glassware to dry. When the glass has dried, it will now appear etched and have a very professional and clean look.
The finished product turned out great! Not only is it perfect for storing those yummy snacks, it is also a beautiful decoration for the mantle, happily placed right next to the picture of Brit and Cupcake in matching winter coats. Adorable!
