Carrot Easter Eggs

Easy
A garden of eggs sponge painted to look like carrots and planted in soil made of paper strips makes a fun Easter decoration. Carrot eggs are easy to make and they are sure to be a conversation piece when guests visit.
Isn't this a fun decoration for Easter?
Start by hard boiling eggs. Pour a small amount of orange craft paint onto a sheet of wax paper or a plate, dab some on your sponge, and then dab the sponge against the wax paper until most of the paint is gone. When sponge painting, less paint is better.
Allow the paint to dry before proceeding.
Fold 4x4 squares of green tissue paper to resemble a carrot top. Glue in place with a hot glue gun. "Plant" your carrot eggs in a bed of brown shredded paper and you have a fun Easter decoration.

* I stored these eggs after Easter 2013 in an open egg carton and they were still usable in both 2014 and 2015. The key is to make sure that the eggs have no cracks before storing them.*

Eggs don’t even have to be emptied to store forever. I have goose eggs I left in the garage for a year, protected but open to air, and the insides completely dry out. You can hear the yolks rattle.
