I have always used paper towels to line my glass fridge shelves and drawers to catch drips etc. If the fridge already has glass shelves, I see no reason why we shouldn't use plastic, wipeable mats. If the glass doesn't restrict air flow, the mats won't. I think it's a great idea.

I have used place mats in the fridge for years, I also have them on every shelf in the pantry and in all kitchen cabinets and drawers Same in the bathroom. I like them so much better than that shelf liner stuff. I had to clean out a kitchen drawer today. What an easy job ,by using the place mat in the drawer .
