Nordic Inspired Twig Christmas Tree

I have always loved minimal Christmas decor. Growing up in Germany, our Christmas decor consisted of a small tree, a few stars, and a miniature hand carved nativity scene. It was lovely. Last year I made this simple tree using materials from my backyard. I just love the simplicity of this decor. It brings that nordic feel to any room and it's so easy to make.
I started with two pieces of old fence wood which I attached with screws. I sanded the pieces and white washed them by mixing a small amount of white paint with water.
Next, I cut a few twigs and used Liquid Glue to attach them to the wood. Hot glue gun just didn’t do it for the thicker twigs.
A few tiny twigs and some white spray paint is all it took to create this star.
Really simple and minimal.
I used acorn caps as ornaments. I spray painted them gold, white, and silver and hot glued them to the tree.
That’s all it took to make this natural, earthy and inexpensive Christmas decoration. The reindeer is from Finland.
Happy Holidays!
